Arkanoid Coming to Live
ImageArkanoid is undeniably a classic. It's a simple game -- you have a paddle and you need to hit a ball into the blocks above you. The only danger is in letting the ball get past you, which costs you a life. Simple, indeed. But highly addictive.


Arkanoid Live! for XBLA doesn't make any major changes to the formula. Instead, it ups the graphics to make them look slicker, adds some new music, and tosses in two-player co-op and versus modes.

Expect 120 stages, including levels from previous Arkanoid titles. Leaderboards will track high scores and the fastest clear times for each stage. There is also "abundant game customization" according to publisher Taito, though it's unclear what that customization includes. All we know for sure is that you can "customize your game play for variety enjoyment."
